Why select Gatlinburg Mountain Chalets to host your next visit to this beautiful area?
We do not charge a "per person" rate or any extra unnecessary charges to your stay.  Also, our chalet is personally selected and we specifically look for great views or great features that will set the properties above the others on the mountain.    Our chalets are cleaned very thoroughly, after all we do pay our cleaners more than any company on the mountain!  Also we found some chalet companies and private owners do not treat their hot tubs in their chalets, they just drain the water out and refill the tub.  This is not up to the health code for the area and unlike them, we utilize a seven step chemical process when treating our hot tubs after a guest stay on top of dumping the old water and refilling it with fresh, clean water.  We also have our fireplaces inspected every year for safety reasons and our chalets are exterminated every single month, even in the winter.  All in all it adds up to a great affordable vacation for a family in a memorable, clean and comfortable chalet with NO SURPRISES!  We do hope to host your visit to Gatlinburg and will work to earn your business year after year!

Why not just get a hotel/motel room versus a chalet?
Our chalet has a hot tub, pool table, fireplace, grill, and fully equipped kitchen.  The peacefulness and individual privacy cannot be beat with a chalet and it will surely create wonderful memories of your stay here!  Hotel and motel rooms in downtown Gatlinburg will cost anywhere up to $179.00 per night and all you have is beds, bathroom and a TV.  You will never regret staying in a chalet with us and will probably never go back to hotels and motels after discovering all the extras you get for so little difference in price!

What is provided when I rent a chalet and what is not?
We provide all of the bed, bath and kitchen linens.  We also will supply you with a starter amount of dish soap, dish washer soap, body soap, paper towels and toilet tissue.  For many guests, these starter amounts last them during their stay, however, if you should run out we have Food Citys' both in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge where you can pick up some extra supplies.  If you would like fresh linens while you are here, each chalet has a washer and dryer, you just need to bring your own detergent.   Also, our chalet has a charcoal grill so if you would like to grill out, don't forget your charcoal.  Our chalet also has a private phone line (mostly tone dialing), cable TV  a stereo system  and  a VCR.

Do I have to clean the chalet before I leave?
You do not have to clean the chalet when you leave.  The cleaning is included in your rate.  We do, however, ask that you place the garbage in the appropriate "bear proof" trash containers that are provided for you outside of the chalet.

Tell me more about the Owners Clubs:
There are three wonderful owners clubs on the mountain in Chalet Village.  As a guest of Gatlinburg Mountain Chalet you will have full access rights to these owners clubs.  The pass, information and directions to the owners clubs are placed in the chalet from mid May to late September which is the operating months of the owners clubs.  Each facility has different offerings, however, all facilities have a swimming pool.  For more information on these clubs, please give us a call.

What is your pet policy?
We do  allow pets at our chalet.  However, if you decide to bring a pet with you, you  may be charged $35.00 for the additional cleaning and carpet cleaning.

What does "Flat Rate" mean?
It means that the only additional charge you will have when you rent from us is your tax.  We do not have any processing fees, cleaning fees or per person fees.  The only time you will have an additional fee is if you are staying with us for less then one week  and then we do require that you pay the cleaning fee of $75.00.  Two night stays are on an exception basis only and are usually only approved if there is a party in the chalet the night before or the night after your desired date.

Is there a minimum number of nights that is required ?
Yes.  Our normal minimum number of nights required on a reservation is three, however, during the June, July, October and holidays, our minimum number of nights required is four. However, we do offer two night stays when possible.

How do I go about renting a chalet and what is required to do so?
To reserve our beautiful chalet you can 1) reserve the chalet on-line or 2) you can call us at 305-975-1114.  We do require a two hundred dollar deposit at the time of your reservation and we accept Visa , Master Card, American Express and Discover Card.  You can also send us a personal check or money order and it must be received within seven days of making the reservation or the reservation will be cancelled. 
We require to rent a chalet that you be 21 years of age or older.  In addition, all reservations must be "Paid in Full" two weeks before your arrival date as we do not have an office that you check in and out of and use a security code system for chalet entry.

What are the check in and check out times?
Our check in policy is 3:00 p.m. daily and check out is 11:00 a.m. daily.

Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to all reservations.  In renting our chalet, you agree to comply with all of the following.
Terms and Conditions:

  • A minimum of a two hundred dollar deposit is required on all reservations.  In addition, you must have a major credit card in your name to make a reservation.  Although your deposit or payment may not be on this credit card, the credit card number is required to be on file with us.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age to make this reservation.
  • A 10% fee of total reservation (excluding tax) applies to all cancellations received 15 days or more prior to your arrival date.  Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to your arrival date will not receive a refund.  ALL CANCELLATIONS WILL BE CHARGED AT LEAST A 10% CANCELLATION FEE!
  • We do everything necessary to keep all equipment in the chalets in good working order.  However, it is impossible to guarantee that all appliances, hot tubs, public utilities, etc. will be in working order at all times.  We do however guarantee to correct reported problems as quickly as possible during regular maintenance hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 7 Days a week, excluding Holidays).  Any problems reported after hours will be addressed the next day.  No refunds will be granted for maintenance problems.
  • Gatlinburg Mountain Chalets will not be held liable for any loss, theft, personal injury, personal property damage, or other unfortunate incidents that may happen during your travel or stay with us in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
  • Check In time is at 3:00 p.m. and Check Out time is at 11:00 a.m. 
  • Should for some reason the chalet you have reserved cannot be occupied (disaster, unforeseen damage which can not be corrected, failure of major appliances such as air conditioner or other), we will refund your monies for the nights that the chalet can not be occupied in the amount of your original reservation per night charge.  While there are other lodging companies on the mountain, we can not guarantee that alternative lodging will be available and will not be held liable should you not be able to locate alternative lodging.
  • Pets are allowed.  If you do decide to bring a pet, we may charge your credit card $35.00 for additional disinfecting costs.
  • Maximum occupancy limits are strictly enforced.  If maximum occupancy is exceeded and discovered, you may be required to check out immediately without refund or adjustment.
  • If you are coming between the months of November to March, we recommend that you come prepared in a 4-wheel drive vehicle or with tire chains.  We can not provide transportation to your chalet at any time.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN DUE TO WEATHER!
  • Reservations are accepted up to one year in advance.  Rates are subject to change without notice.  Existing reservations will be honored at the rate at time of booking.
  • You will accept full responsibility for payment for additional guests, damages, phone charges or extra cleaning charges during your occupancy of the chalet..

  • What is SSL?

"SSL" stands for Secure Sockets Layer. It is a security protocol that encrypts all of your connections with a Web server.   SSL prohibits eavesdroppers who could "sniff" your Internet packets for sensitive information such as passwords and credit card numbers.   Thus, SSL has made on-line commerce viable for all web users. 

  • How does SSL work?

Quoting from the technical specifications of Netscape Data Security: "SSL provides a security "handshake" that is used to initiate the TCP/IP connection. This handshake results in the client and server agreeing on the level of security they will use, and fulfills any authentication requirements for the connection. Thereafter, SSL's only role is to encrypt and decrypt the bytestream of the application protocol being used (for example, HTTP, NNTP, or Telnet). This means that all the information in both the HTTP request and the HTTP response are fully encrypted, including the URL the client is requesting, any submitted form contents - including things like credit card numbers, any HTTP access authorization information - usernames and passwords, and all the data returned from the server to the client."

Specific web server software implements server-side support for HTTP over SSL, including support for acquiring a server certificate and communicating securely with SSL-enabled browsers.  

  • How do I know if the page implements SSL?

When you select one of our reservation pages, you will note that in the bottom right hand corner of your web browser there is a "Ï" denoting that you are now in SSL security mode for entry.
